Lu Flur is an Electro Acoustic Harp & Vocal duo from Johannesburg, South Africa. Established on the 11th of March 2012, by the coming together of two diverse artists on a rooftop in Melville, Johannesburg. The duo consist out of Jude HarpStar, an international classically trained harpist, pianist & composer and Zahné, a mostly self taught female vocalist, guitarist and songwriter. Both Zahné & Jude HarpStar share a passion and dream to create music that is beautiful, unique and that moves the soul. They aim to take harp & vocals to the next level; changing people’s perception about the use of harp in contemporary music. Lu Flur’s music is acoustic and raw - influenced by an amalgamation of genre’s, best described as adult contemporary film-esque. Therese Owen from The Star Newspaper, describes Lu Flur’s music as the “Cocteau Twins meets Siouxsie and the Banshees meets 21st century ethereal ballads.” Their debut single Future Tides, was released in August 2013 followed shortly by the release of their debut EP, Floriology recorded at Anti-Motion Studios with David Grevler. Lu Flur is currently performing live, working on music videos, writing new music and enjoying the journey. We are soul. We are flesh. We are dust. We are heart. We are mind. We are Lu Flur.
